Bareboat Charter

What is Bareboat Chartering?

A bareboat charter is an arrangement for the hiring (chartering) of a sailboat without skipper, crew, administration or technical maintenance. The charterer obtains possession and full control of the boat along with the legal and financial responsibility for it.

In order to qualify for bareboat yacht charter the skipper should have previous skippering experience aboard yachts of similar size and hold an RYA Day or Coastal Skipper qualification or an international equivalent such as the ICC qualification. In addition, at least one other crew member should be a competent sailboat sailor.

Turkish Authorities require that every skipper chartering a yacht must hold and present a valid skipper licence. Should you have any concerns regarding sailing and navigating a bareboat sail yacht, we’d be happy to arrange a qualified skipper to you for your holiday.
